The Barley Mob are a Dublin/ Kildare based band fusing upbeat Reggae grooves with raw
and honest Irish Soul - Spreading Positive Music for the Soul. Their uplifting and
energetic live gigs have received brilliant reviews. In a few short months they have
become firm Sligo favourites.
After emerging in 2010 they have gone on to become one of the most sought after bands
on the Irish Music Scene playing over 150 live gigs since May 2010; including a crowd of
6,000 people in Merrion Square Dublin! The group consist of: Adam Daly – Lead Vocals;
Neil Butler – Drums/ Percussion; John Heraghty – Bass; Andy Moore – Guitar; Conor
Byrne- Keys; Sean Behan – Guitar and Barry Kett on Brass/ Whistles. The final night of
the club celebrates the ancient 'Oíche Shamhna' with a Halloween fancy dress
competition, judged by the Barley Mob.
Sligo Live Festival Club is an exciting new concept this year with three separate music areas occupying the full ground floor of the Model off the atrium bar.
The Black Box will rock to the Club headliners, followed by roots mixes.
On the Acoustic Stage, Nichola McEvilly will host a stream of festival artists who have played in other venues, giving a flavour of the breadth and depth of talent on offer in Sligo Live.
The Session Space, anchored by the Friels, will welcome musicians and festival goers whose interests are more traditional. The real craic will be moving from area to area sampling the variety of sounds on offer.
